ต้น เป็นไม้พุ่ม ลำต้นตั้งตรง สูงได้ถึง 1-2 ม.

ใบ ใบเดี่ยว ออกตรงข้ามกัน รูปใบหอก ยาว 10-15 ซม. กว้าง 5 ซม. สีเขียวเข้ม ขอบใบเรียบหรือหยักมน ปลายใบยาวถึงเรียวแหลม

ดอก ออกเป็นช่อตั้งตรง ที่ปลายยอดหรือตามซอกใบ ดอกมีจำนวนมาก ดอกเป็นหลอดสีแดงสดใส ยาว 2-3 ซม.
